Academics Overview

The ExecutiveMPA@Syracuse curriculum is designed to help professionals develop the skills, insights, and strategies to successfully lead organizations amid dynamic global change. Students will expand on their leadership and management expertise and learn to apply analytical principles to address real-world public service challenges.

The program consists of 30 credits that can be completed entirely online in as little as 15 months.

A World-Class Education Delivered Online

Weekly webcam-enabled courses and self-paced coursework are designed and led by faculty members who also teach on campus at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, a #1-ranked school for graduate education in public affairs.1

Learning Objectives

The goal of the ExecutiveMPA@Syracuse program is to help professionals take the next step toward leading and managing more effectively. The curriculum focuses on three key areas of public service and private sector leadership: management, policymaking, and evidence-based analysis. Upon graduation, students will be adept at:

Formulating, evaluating, and implementing policy across an organization

Effectively building and leading cross-functional teams

Using analytic thinking to optimize both financial and human capital

Uncovering and addressing organizational opportunities and flaws
